Under The Unminding Sky: Paintings by

Gregory Thielker

In Memory of Kitty.

In Memory of Kitty.

Summer is here. But all I can think of is Monsoon. The comfort below layers of apparel that I can don during the season is something I look forward to. Splashing inconveniently when people walk about me, so that they get dirty water splattered on them, but cursing when I get splashed on. Something about the moist air just brings out one’s creativity. So I wait, in anticipation of snuggling up with a hot cup of coffee or mocha, while watching the rain trickle down the windowpane. For the gumboots I want to buy and plan on customising. For the events I will have to cover and write reports on. For the greenery in Goa if I get to go home. For the hugs I shall partake in! To watch those streaks of violet almost white, in the sky. And for all those earthy smells.
